Hi
I use vb 4.1.12
In admincp > User Registration Options > Moderate New Members, I have this set to "yes", but it don't. That is, people can register and I am not asked to approve anything.
Please help
Users should be registered but put in a usergroup with limited permissions. If you go to adminCP, Moderation > Moderate Users, do you see any users listed there? Could you have installed a modification that changes the way registration works?

Nope, no users there.
Nope, don't think anything I have added could have bypassed this.

Do you have any users in the usergroups Users Awaiting Moderation or Users Awaiting Email Confirmation?

Users are never put into moderation. I never get any chance to approve registrations.

That isn't what I asked. I am asking you to look into your Usergroup Manager and let me know if you have any users in the two usergroups I specified.

OK, sorry Lynne, yes there are;
Users Awaiting Email Confirmation 5
Users Awaiting Moderation 8

The users in the Email Confirmation group will not show up for Moderation until they confirm their email. The users in the Awaiting Moderation group should be awaiting approval from you.

Hi Lynne
Thanks, but I do not get any registration approval emails. And people register and post without any problem, and without my approving their registration!

And I can not find anywhere to list and approve registrations. If this is Admincp > Moderations > Moderate Users, I get No Matches Found

Go to the very front page of your admincp. In the stats box on the very right side, it should list "Users to Moderate", "Threads to Moderate", "Posts to Moderate", etc.
As for them posting, you need to check the actual usergroup permissions. If your usergroup Awaiting Moderation has posting permissions, then that is why they are posting.

I am using vBulletin 4.1.12 Patch Level 2
I can not find any stats box.
In usergroup manager, Users awaiting moderation; all set to "No" under Post / Thread Permissions

Hmmm, if you look at the list of users in the Users Awaiting Moderation usergroup, are the registration dates recent?

Admincp, Search For Users / User Manager, Find Users Awaiting Moderation;
No Users Matched Your Query
Please do not forget, the issue is I am not being emailed to moderate registrations / given the chance to moderate registrations
Matthew over on vbulletin.com was answering a similar question (maybe it was yours), and he suggested checking the facebook settings (if you have that enabled), to make sure facebook users aren't being put directly in to "Registered Users".

Hi Kevin
Thanks, no, not done that.
So I think I must get support / file a ticket on vb com?

Have you given Registered users a secondary usergroup? if you have and the permissions for that secondary usergroup are higher than the primary then the higher permissions win, so if the secondary usergroup is allowed to post then thats what will happen!

So i suppose the next question is what plugins do you have? have you written any yourself?
As a test create a new default style with no parent, try to register and see if you go in to moderation then.

I think I will file a support ticket, but thanks.
