This little code will change the background color of your moderated threads/posts to make it easy to spot by you and your Mods.
It helps with busy forums.
I tested it on vB 4.2.0 but should work on older versions. I use postbit_legacy.
Install:
Step 1:
In postbit_legacy template look for:
<div class="postbody">
Replace it with:
<div class="postbody <vb:if condition="$show['moderated']">moderated</vb:if>">
Step 2
Also, in additional.css, add this code
.postbitlegacy div.postbody.moderated {background: #F5DA81;
}
Change the background color to what you prefer
If you enjoy my mod, please consider marking it as "Installed". Any comments are welcome.

The owner of a forum where I provide tech support wanted this. After installing it for her, I realized how handy it is. Now using it on 4 forums. :)

Is the coloring visible to all, or just mods and admins?

Just mods and admins. If a post is in moderation, no one else except mods and admins can even see the post.

As I noted above, I'm now using this on four vBulletin 4.2.0 PL3 forums.
It's working perfectly on 3 of those. However, on the 4th it isn't working at all.
Using this code at the top of additional.css:
.postbit div.postbody.moderated {background: #F5DA81 !important;
}
Any ideas as to why this would NOT work on that one forum? What are the likely conflicts that might prevent it from working?
Fixed: Never mind. I had forgotten to make the edit in the postbit template on the problematic forum. :o

Does something like this exist for the thread list as well?

Try this in additional.css
.threadbit.unapproved .nonsticky {background: #FFCCFF;}

Anyway to use this in conjunction with this hack: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=247094
So that the moderated posts have a different background color for mods and admins but look normal for the post author.

I have both mods installed, but I want the background color to only change for Mods and Admins, but have the post look completely normal to the poster, even though nobody else can see the post.

This worked for me...did you grab the closing brace of the CSS selector (the code to add to "additional.css")?

Ah, OK, I see where I screwed up. We use postbit, not postbitlegacy, and I didn't change that in the additional css code.
Works now, thanks!

can somebody give an example of how to use this on the search results?
I added the if statement to the search_results_postbit, then tried the css with the original and also tried the css by changing .postbit to .searchbit. neither worked.
