This is a utility for Administrators to add a new menu choice to the top of the Admin CP menu. It includes links to the most used Admin CP pages and you can easily customize the links by adding your own or removing the ones already there.
Compatible with all VB versions 3.6.0 through 4.x.x inclusive.
The hardest part about this will be finding the link/url you need for custom links. Basically the easiest way is to just navigate to the admincp page you want to link to then use your browser tools to find the URL of the page in the frame, then copy everything after /admincp/ and that will be your link.
Actually no reason you need to limit this to only Admin CP links, you could put in a full URL (starting with http or https) and use that as a link as well.
I've seen a mod where people link to their cpanel account for example, you could do that if you wanted.
Please "Mark as Installed" if you use this. :)
Donations Always Appreciated.
Marking this as re-usable code as it is a interesting way of including Admin CP setting groups without the need for a separate xml file to upload- feel free to play with that.

I've only had it installed for a couple hours and I know it's already saved me time! Eliminates so many monotonous clicks and scrolls to get to where you want to go so much quicker, thanks!

Not to mention trying to remember where some of those items are. :)

Thanks everyone for the great feedback.
The idea was actually a request in the Unpaid Requests forum (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=285234).
It's funny you can use vBulletin every day for years and clearly benefit from something like this but until someone makes a request it doesn't click in your head you can actually do something about it. :)

I've tried using something like this before, but as I've been so use to the way I navigate around the Admin CP for years now I never really remembered to use it.
I will however give this one a go, as I do like BOP's mods..

Wow...incredibly useful and so simple.
Now you better keep this updated or there will be a lot of people lost when it goes outdated. LOL
Thanks,
John

Anyone figure out the link to go directly to "Edit Templates"?
BirdOPrey5

template.php?s=&group=&do=modify&expandset=42
Replace "42" with the styleid of the style you want to edit templates for.

Exelent!
Installed however it was not exactly what i was looking for.
I was looking for something that would let me add a option to an existing menu.

GREAT mod - Thanks Joe
just two things :
1- after saving the new options , MUST Reload the whole admincp too ;)
2- Collapse and Save is not working on this option in admincp .

I had this installed and loved it. I upgraded vBulletin to 4.2.5 and it disappeared from the side bar interface. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It still does not show up. Any suggestions.

Did you refresh the AdminCP page after installing?
Did you try clearing your browser cache and then reloading your AdminCP page??
There are no files to upload so that's not an issue.
Really, unless it's a browser cache issue, there's not much that can go wrong with this.
What browser and browser version are you using?

What PHP version are you using? I've tested it up through PHP 7.0.x but not 7.1.x yet.

I'm running it with vB 4.2.5 and PHP 7.1.12
No issues at all. Works perfectly, just as it always has.

Same here vB4.2.5 and PHP 7.1.12 :)
EDIT:
I forgot to mention only that if this mod is installed "Save Prefs" does not work for all settings if it is expand.

OK. I discovered the issue. There is a menu at the very top that reads "Show Custom Navigation". This menu doesn't show up in the install demonstration image above.

Weird, none of my VB sites have the "Show Standard Navigation" option. Wonder if it's some customization.

Same here. That must be an add-on of some sort.
