In my opinion godaddy is good to purchase domain names but as far as hosting goes I would stay away from them.
But to answer your questions, yes, they meet the requirements needed to install vb.

I can't speak for anyone else, but a while back in an attempt to save some cash I moved a site from a dedicated server to GoDaddy. Within 60 days it was hacked at the server level. GoDaddy said it wasn't possible and denied it was a problem on their end.
I immediately moved the site back to a dedicated server and have never had a problem since.
So far as who to go with, I don't know. I have my own servers/data center and don't deal with other hosts anymore.

Godaddy = Nodaddy
I personally use hawkhost.com for hosting my forums (they are pretty decently priced and have a 40% off coupon, just click on 'special deals' tab on their website)
Alternatively, hostgator :)
Choose Godaddy if you'd like to go through nightmares or wake up at 3am in the night to see an email saying that your forum is down etc.,

The best hosting.
The best support 24 HS, resources, and anti DOS / DDOS!
My site was suffering DDOS attacks, past thousand hosting, because the attacks were so great that threw the entire nod everywhere.
In this company, I forget the attacks, and without putting a weight of more!

I'm not sure what urljet does to optimize themselves for vBulletin installations, but surely it can't be better than what a user can do themselves. XD
I use Linode ( http://www.linode.com/ ), and I've been a happy customer for years, now. The cheapest advertised VPS over at urljet is $110 for a single 512MB server with 10GB of hard drive space. Linode will give you a 512MB with 20GB of space on their cheapest plan at $20. (I use that one for my webserver and then a larger one for my database server.)
I guess, though, if you can't set up your server (really not as hard as you'd thnk, tbh), maybe you'd be willing to pay the extra bucks. Heck, I should start selling Linode servers and re-brand 'em with my own name, and maybe I could make a hefty profit. X3

I'd like to have our own server, but I'm told hardware costs + Internet costs can cost more than URLJET does now. I won't know until I actually do it.
We're just 4 months old, but growing quickly.

I have had a virtual server Linux acct @ GD for a while now. The only probs I had so far are a 'beancounter' issue ('Out of Memory' errs), and an old PHP version (which I had to upgrade myself recently to 5.3). The beancounter issue was finally resolved on their end.
