vBBookmarks - link directory script

vBBookmarks is a simple bookmark catalog system which tries to
integrate with the vBulletin 2.x software.

The source code of this script is quite ugly and considered beta
quality (but does its job quite well for me).

In contrast to vblinks (http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12815), it has the possibility of sorting bookmarks into an unlimited number of subcategories and is administred inline.

It's a work-in-progress, so please report bugs, patches experiences and wishes to me <the_mip@gmx.fr> or in this thread.

ok.....can you be more specific? How does this hack relate to the end user? What advantages does it give them? Bookmarks? Are we talking browser bookmarks? Is the bookmarking of favorite threads? Is the member able to establish their own personal bookmark list?????:rolleyes:

It is meant as a forum-wide database of favorite URLs (like your browser's bookmarks or favorites).
Users with a number of postings can add links and report broken ones, moderators can add new categories and edit bookmarks and categories.
It is like the little brother of phpLinks (http://phplinks.org/phplinks/) which was too complex to integrate cleanly into vBB - so I wrote an own one.

Sorry for not having set up a demo site, but we only own one license of vBB which runs on our intranet.
You have to try it out on your own site, but it's quite easy to set up (cave: phpMyAdmin (http://phpwizard.net/projects/phpMyAdmin/index.html) seems to have a problem with the SQL script - use mysql command line program to feed it into your mySQL database).

I took the Kreftt translation, and the mip source, I changed something in the templates in order to make text smaller and more "in line" with the rest of vBulletin, and created an all-english version.

It still has something to fix though. :pleased:

So, i have insert all the QUeries manually and now it runs!

But i didn´t find the trashcan symbol everywhere, you wrote in the script something with the trashcan, but i did not see anything about it????

On question again!

My hack will be running fine, only this symbol trashcan wont be schown, and the next problem....

Any registered User can Add or remove Links from this bookmark forum, can i make the permissions that only Mod and Admin can create or delete Links and Categories?????

But all the other Registered Members will see them and use them but not create or delete them???

I think, that this hack will used for many illegal links, and i think that idiots will delete good and fine links. You know that members will be very different in charactere and some are very good members and some other will be idiots!

Please tell me how i can change the permissions, because the Admin Control Panel did not have such a mode to edit the permissions for this part of forum!
