We have it all set up correctly that they should get an email but many are complaining that they aren't. Is there anything else we can do? Our members are getting kinda frustrated.

Are you using cron based email? And how many emails are showing up in your queue on the front page of your admincp?

I don't see anything about cron based email under email options.

Do you have "SMTP Email" set to yes or no? A few people have been having problems with it set to "no" because their host recently stopped allowing mail to be sent directly from a php program (you wouldn't happen to have GoDaddy as your host, would you?). If that sounds like the problem, I'm not sure what the solution is - you should probably contact your host and talk to them about it.
Edit: From WHOIS it looks like you do use GoDaddy. I did a search and came up with a page from their support site where someone asked about this. According to that page, you should be able to set (in the adminCP) "SMTP Email" to Yes and "SMPT Host" to "relay-hosting.secureserver.net" (or contact them, if you prefer to make sure).

I am currently having this same issue and I do have GoDaddy as my server.
My SMTP is set to "Yes" and has "relay-hosting.secureserver.net" set as my host. Still no email sent to notify a PM was sent. Is there anything I need to look at?
That was a few months ago and I wasn't smart enough to link to the support page I found. It might be best to contact support and ask them about configuring your forum software for sending out email (or maybe someone else who uses GoDaddy will know).
