Password Hack?

I heard of a password hack that you could use (yes I know about access masks)
I searched and couldn't find it.

Did anyone ever finish it?

Actually iw as referring to the hack that will let you put a password on a forum. The forum is restricted to admins and mods, but I wanted to go one further and use a pssword for the admin forum
I know I say an Admin talk about this , but i can'tfind it anywhere
