VB Search / advanced search

I'd like to be able to remove the search options for certain users. I don't even want them to know it exists. I presently have set up a user group and have the users as part of the group but they are still able to access the search button. Sure they get an access denied error but I don't want them to even get that. No search = no error.

Which search button are you talking about? There does seem to be a "show" variable for whether or not a user has permission to search, but I was just looking at the navbar search fields and it doesn't look like it's used there. It may be possible to add a check for $show['searchbuttons'] to some of the templates.
