View Full Version : Admin CP is Refreshing Uncontrollably

I installed the vBDownloads 1.3.5 mod to my 4.1.12 board, and there was an issue. I let Dylan from DBTech know and he updated the mod to 1.3.6. I overwrote the old 1.3.5 files, but didn't import the new XML file yet. I tried to login to my ACP and all it did was keep refreshing itself.

I went into config.php and tried to disable all plugins and products. That still didn't work. I downloaded the 1.3.5 files again and overwrote the 1.3.6 ones, it still is refreshing. Lucky for me, IB decided to make a direct link to the plugins portion of the admin cp, plugin.php, but not one for products, or at least one that I know about, so I am stuck not able to uninstall this product and I cannot do anything because my ACP keeps refreshing. What do I do?

EDIT: I am using CloudFlare, but I disabled it and it's still happening.

Have you tried clearing all your cookies and doing a hard refresh in your browser to see if that helps? What browser are you using?

Yep, even tried using Chrome instead of Firefox.

It looks like it's not the plugin as I managed to uninstall it with my super fast "stop refreshing" skills.

AdminCP is still refreshing

The mod is BANISHED completely, and it's still refreshing. Dylan suggested I disable CloudFlare so I am going to give that a try.

Ah, CloudFlare. If I had known you were using them I would have suggested disabling it temporarily.

All right, it's not CloudFlare. Still refreshing. WTF?!

Sorry about that! Added that info to OP.

Ah this is so frustrating. I viewed the source of the admin cp page when it was refreshing and it said YOUR BROWSER DOES NOT SUPPORT FRAMES! PLEASE GET ONE THAT DOES! And at the top it had a bunch of stuff about CloudFlare.

Are you 100% sure that plugins are disabled via config.php?

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

I feel like an idiot. It was CloudFlare all along.

They magically decided that my AdminCP's index.php wasn't sufficient and needed redoing. I looked at the source and it was all changed to CF's JavaScript. Disabled CF and now it's working 100%.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I used to use CloudFlare (for all of about 5 minutes) as it causes more problems than it fixes.

Just installed CloudFlare last night on this server and the results are nothing short of amazing, if for no other reason that their top-notch DNS. Server load has dropped and page loads went from over 11 seconds to less than 3. The above statement is irresponsible and if the price is having the ACP refresh a couple of times before I hit Escape, I'll take it.

You could just disable it for your AdminCP directory

Cloudflare....it's explained in this very thread.
No point bumping threads if you don't even read the advice already in them...

CF does not optimize or speed up any site - it merely tries to deliver static content to the user from a location closer to the user than the host server is.

It's easy to stop your ACP refreshing on CF. Just add a page rule for your ACP.

It's easy to stop your ACP refreshing on CF. Just add a page rule for your ACP.Right. But, it shouldn't be happening anyway.

I was just informing the CF users that pausing it or "disabling" it does nothing if your domain is still pointing to CF nameservers.

Disable cloudflare as cloudflare is what is causing the issue.

I had the same problem, you must setup a Page Rule in cloudflare.

Example:

Pattern:
http://mysite.com/admincp/*

And as for the Page Rule options, Disable CloudFlare’s caching and optional performance features for that Page Rule.

Also create another Page Rule for "http://mysite.com/modcp/*" and do the same with the Page Rule options as the one above.

Note: If you renamed your AdminCP and/or ModCP folders, you will need to use the correct folders. Also note the "*" (wildcard) at the and of the URL for the Patterns. Them Page Rules will match the entire contents of the directory using the Wildcard. That should stop the AdminCP and ModCP from always refreshing.

I would setup the 2 page rules, so you can still use cloudflare with your site, instead of disabling cloudflare globally.

hi, sorry for bumping that thread BUT... I set up page rules:

Rocket Loader: OFF
Cache Level: Bypass

but still get Admin reloaded :(

Funny thing is that this happens only at ONE of many my projects... All other work perfect without any page rules!

New sure to clear the cache on your site and on cloudflare. I would also bypass everything for admincp but security.
