I would like to display the activity stream in the forum sidebar, so that users can keep up with new content, while they are browsing or reading threads.
Therefore it would be nice to have the activity stream in the sidebar.
The activity stream would need to be a little more compact to fit in there.

That mod does not use AJAX auto-updating. So its not an activity stream, but an activity list.
