hey guys, and gals, Ive ran into somewhat of a problem. I purchased a really really expensive style for my vbulletin today and it turned out that it was not compatible with 4.1.12, it is compatible with 4.1.5 and when i went to upload it everything went fine it was showing my 4.1.5 one i did and then when i try to add in my database backup it seems to want to revert back to 4.1.12 although in my control panel it says 4.1.5, on the site itself it says 4.1.12 in the powered by thing and the style i wanted isnt working i know this style works with it. my question is...
IF i import a backup from 4.1.12 into a 4.1.5 version of vbulletin does it try to revert back to 4.1.12?
if this is the case is there any way possible that I could manually pick which tables to select so that only forum posts, user profiles, and all that good stuff for my members doesnt get lost? if this is not possible there is no problem at all. thanks!

I am not very sure I understood what you want to do. Did you mean that you want to restore a 4.1.12 backup to a 4.1.5 forum? If so, that is not possible as your db should be en pair with the forum files.
The best way would be to upgrade your custom theme to be compatible with the latest version. Or if you want to downgrade per se you can do it in 2 ways. One is to revert manually the db changes that were added between the 2 versions but this is a very long and tedious task. You should really know what you are doing. Or you can try to convert your vb forum to another software and then convert back to 4.1.5. but you might loose some things in the process like passwords, permissions, attachments etc.

it works out ok. good thing we just started the forum up about 2 weeks ago so there wasnt alot of info on it. im just glad this happened sooner than later. i have 4.1.5 running which is the only version running and I understand there is no support for this version. im using some of mysticdigitals styles which are out of date bc they are out of commision right now. i hear they will make a comeback so soon as that happens i believe ill get out of the 4.1.5 and get back to the newer versions.
