...much, much better!!!
After about 6 years with the same tired admincp, I've decided it's time to completely rewrite it from ground up. This project is almost ready to graduate to beta.
Highlights
Installable outside of the vBulletin webroot if desired, even in a subdomain.
AJAX/jQuery powered for minimal page refreshing.
Installation is as simple as removing your old admincp directory, uploading new files and importing a product XML.
Completely follows the set of user-level administrator permissions
Completely compatible with any product's settings.
Each user can customize his own Common Tasks and tweak a buffet of new and improved preferences.
I'm not a graphics person at all, so I've found the best stock template I could find and am building from that. The color theme is all editable in its own style editor.
I'm interested in pre-beta suggestions and/or questions.
Thanks!

Will this be released here as free or lite version of a paid mod?

My input is that it looks good. But a lot of things look good on paper and end up being horrible in pratice.

Visually, this looks a LOT like vBFoster. Be careful of copyright/trademark infringements.

This looks nothing like vBfoster, at least according to their site. My product is eliminating the rows of settings and grouping them accordingly into an ajax interface.

This looks awesome :)
Will this be licensed controlled?
Depending on the outcome of this project, vbulletin should adopt this as its new admincp interface.
I can't believe after all these years the low amount of ajax in vBulletin.

If i do decide to release it as a premium, it will be affordable... not one of those $999 packages :)

It looks really great but the security aspects can be worrisome.

I agree with sage. Please don't take it personal, but something as vital as the AdminCP I'd never replace with a Third Party Addon just for the looks (basically).
Besides, I am pretty used to how things look and know my way around. ;)

It is very basic the vb ACP and in a way that is what I need.
I do like this idea too and I am all with the looks of things.
I will wait and see what happens
I agree, I think the current admincp is purposely simple to avoid problems, so adding a more complicated one is taking a risk. And if there are people who like it and would pay for it that's great, but I don't think I'd pay for something that didn't add any functionality and was only visible to admins.
It does look nice though.

I LOVE this part of it.
But still, I don't know how I feel about a 3rd party admincp modification. It's such a touchy area, I'd really want to leave such a thing for vB themselves to make if they so wished.

Looks very nice, except maybe the icons, but other than that looks more friendly than default vb control panel.

friendliness is the whole point for doing it. A lot of my vb freelance work is for clients who ask a lot of admincp questions that us seasoned vb users know, but people just starting out are hard pressed to understand.

So you pretty much used this place to advertise your mod?

no. im not selling it. there's no real interest in it. I'm just sick of the politics here since Jelsoft died and IB was born.

Not really sure what you're referring to :)

This would appear to be the real reason for the decision:
there's no real interest in it.

My $0.02 worth ....
As others have said, looks nice, and may even be nice to use, but I'd be very very nervous about replacing something as important as the AdminCP.
Go for it anyway, I'll certainly be interested to hear user comments once it's out there.
