Great Idea: vBulletin Status Sent to a Thread

I have this idea and thought it'd be great for vBulletin to encourage posting but don't know where to even start coding it.

There would be a box below the navigation bar that says "What on your mind". Very similar to what Facebook has. When you type in there and click submit. It automatically gets sent to a particular thread you have designated.

It could be like a Random Thoughts thread or something. But either way it would encourage more posting.

Anybody have an idea how to do this?

If anybody is interested in this I found some people that are sending me quotes on this. I'd like to split the price of this with someone else if interested.
