On my site members will report bad posts to admin/mods - which I imagine that is the case with every forum.

When I check a reported post there is a good chance another mod already edited/corrected the post in question. However, I am never 100% sure it was edited. Is there an option/mod that allows the moderator to leave a comment on the post that can only be seen only by those with permission?

That way when I go to a reported post I see a comment from another mod that says "hey, I took care of this post". It would make it so much easier than having to read through a post/thread looking for a problem that was already fixed.

Thanks

Use this. We mainly just use it for a laugh but I guess you could use it for serious issues too. ;)

Change the permissions settings on your mods to show "edited by" when they edit posts. granted this will show up for everyone to see.

You could also just have your reported posts create a thread in your mod forum and have your mods reply to the report once they've corrected the issue, that way there's always something logged and everyone isn't wondering around trying to fix things that have already been taken care of.
