The guy who did the installation set the "forum url" to just www.sitename.com instead of www.sitename.com/forum

This was fine till we added a donate button and it wouldn't redirect the person back to the correct page or automatically change their usergroup. We figured it was because the forum URL was incorrect and changed it to have the trailing /forum on the end. The issue we have now is that some things seem to not work.

1. When selecting a theme from the bottom, it doesn't refresh the page to activate the theme selected.
2. Chatbox says loading the entire time and when you try to post to chatbox you get a security token error.
3. When the forum url has the /forum on the end, Always use Forum URL as Base Path has to be set to NO or nothing works at all.
4. Eventually the site will change the forum url to www.sitename.com/forum/forum.php if the above #3 is set. It works for a while then does mentioned.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Maybe try going to Maintenance > General Update Tools (or Maintenance > Update Counters if you have an older version) and Rebuild Styles.

Done and no change.

If you allow users to login to your site via both http://www.yoursite.com and just yoursite.com., then you MUST have your cookie domain (AdminCP > Settings > Options > Cookies and HTTP Header Options > Cookie Domain) set to ".yoursite.com" (no quotes, but note the period at the beginning) or your users will have problems. Also, make sure to tell your users to click the Remember Me button when they login.

The cookie setting was already set.

Oh, I should have asked this at the beginning: Where is your forum installed? If it's not installed in a /forum directory then you shouldn't be adding /forum to your forum url.

The entire Vbulletin suite is installed in the root directory. I just found out that the "Forum URL" is not referring to the forum part of the vbulletin suite but the entire suite itself. So, I had the URL part correct the entire time. Now I am clueless as to why the subscriptions are not working.

Is this the donate button you were talking about? How did you add it exactly?

It is the Contribute button on the Nav bar.
www.ychromozone.com

It takes you to the payments.php page where it allows you to select what you want to "buy". If you go there now it shows nothing listed because I have the subscription disabled because it wasn't automatically adding the user to the appropriate usergroup. The payment would go through and the funds would be available in the Paypal account but that is as far as it goes.

Well, I have to be honest, I have very little experience with paid subscriptions. But it looks like when the payment is verified the user gets moved to the new usergroup. And verifying for paypal seem to involve establishing a connection to paypal.com to get info about the transaction. Do the transactions show up as verified in the transaction log?
