View Full Version : Guests Can't View Forum Sidebar

On my site (vB 4.1.12), logged-in members are able to view my forum sidebar and blocks, but guests cannot. It was working fine before I upgraded to 4.1.12. The sidebar blocks include ad spaces and a poll.

Even after using a clean new default style, it still does not show up for guests.

I have also disabled and manually unchecked all non-vB products.

Where is there a setting that will allow guests to view the forum sidebar and blocks? Is it a permissions issue?

Link?

And do you have any conditions around the ads? And is the poll in a publicly viewable forum?

Link here (http://www.gaytorium.com/forum.php).

Yes, guests can view the "Polls" forum.

Also, there are no conditions in the ad code.

Thank you.

Create a new style with no parent:

Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
Parent Style: No Parent Style
Title: Default vBulletin
Allow User Selection: Yes
Save

Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

Yes, I selected the default template and even unchecked the customized template under Style Manager, but the forum sidebar still does not appear.

It also seems that after version 4.1.12, when both styles are selectable, the "quick style chooser" does not work (the choices are not listed). To try to remedy this, I re-uploaded the "clientscript" directory and cleared the cache. No luck yet.

The quick style chooser is not selectable on the default style or the custom style?

Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

I just deleted all of my styles and re-customized the default template. It seems to be working now. Thank you.
