I just saw that this thread was closed for whatever reason and I'd like to know when the system will be fixed?

I posted this in January and it's now April and I'm still getting the same error on post I'm trying to "like" here at vbulletin.org. :(
I was going to post in my old thread before I saw it was locked, that I'm still getting this notice as I posted in this thread.

There is no reason why I shouldn't be able to like that persons post is there?
If the system doesn't work correctly, why have it in place at all?

This is the only example I've seen of anyone pointing out where it doesn't work, so I suppose the answer would be that the system is in place for the times that it does work, which seems to be almost all other times.

I just liked perhaps 10 different posts in the course of the past 24 hours. Seems unfortunate that a system incapable of functioning differently then how it is coded decides to discriminate against you. ;)

Sorry to disappoint, but I've had the same exact issue as Brandon on more than a couple handfuls of threads/posts. Same error: Sorry, you are not allowed to 'Like' this post.
Perhaps there's a cutoff date on the posts you're allowed to like? IDK - but it is rather annoying...

There is a limit which I believe we have specified before. It is currently set to 180 in an open thread.

Paul said in this thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=2291579&postcount=3) that it isn't applied to modification.. which I had tried to like a post on?

If you tried to like this post:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=2235832#post2235832
It's not supposed to work because it's over 6 months old.
When Paul said you can like Modifications beyond the 180 days he means JUST the first post in the modification, not all posts in a modification thread.

ah I see
and why the time limit?
does staff feel a post over 6 months doesn't merit a "like"
should a 6 month old post even be allowed to be replied to?
Also.. I understood the term "modification" as everything in these forums.

Thanks
I guess I'll just stop trying to use it if it's not going to be intuitive, why use it?? ;)
There is no reason at all to limit the amount of time that we can "like a post"...lol
typical vbulletin logic..haha
