Does ANYONE know how I can change this? It really doesn't make any sense to me. This happens when I click "Add as Friend".

What is the difference between "add....to your contacts" and sending a friend request?

What I want is for someone to click "Add as Friend", and then it takes you to a screen that says "Are you sure you want to add username as a friend?" click Yes, and it sends a friend request to that user.

I don't want there to be any difference between friends and contacts. It looks to be very redundant. Why is it even there in the first place, I wonder?

I believe the difference between friends and contacts is that you can add anyone as a contact, but they're only a friend if you send a request and they accept. I don't know offhand what the differences in functionality are between someone being a friend or just a contact.

I don't think it would be that easy to change. But you might be able to figure out how to always send a friend request, and maybe only display people who have accepted. But then how do you notify the sender if the potential friend declines?

Why not just have it the way facebook is? Why even deal with "contacts"?

I suppose my question is: how do I get rid of the whole mention of "Contacts" in my vbulletin forum? I mean, why not just have friends?

So you want to force all users to became friends with another user and not have a choice in the matter? So, if User B only allows friends to see their Albums, you want to not allow them any say in who their friends are? If so, you may have some users choosing not to post any pictures or information about themselves since they will have no control over who sees it.
