ChilaxinMS Staff Comments v1.3
Allows staff members and predefined users to converse about a thread without normal user's seeing it. Displays above the thread and allows a "Auto Post" function on the posting of a staff comment.
I have personally tested it on vBulletin version 4.0.8, but I can't see it having any problems with any 4.x.x versions, but if there is an error please tell me and I will fix right away!
Features:
-Allows usergroups to see staff notes
-Allows specific users to see staff notes
-Supports BB Code
Version Releases:
1.0.0
- Initial Release (only for Beta testers)
1.0.1
- Fixed some users not being able to see the staff comments due to user ID.
- Fixed the Forum/Thread "updater" to actually show the auto comment as the latest reply.
- Added prefix support.
- Added MySQL injection checking (You never know when your staff will get mad!)
1.2
- Compatible with 4.2 (Sorry for the delay, never got a notification!)
1.3
- Fixed an issue with vBulletin usergroup HTML markup causing SQL errors.
(If your usergroup markup had single quotes ( ' ) it would cause SQL errors
- Added more security measures.
1.3.1
- Fixed an issue with upgrading from previous versions.
Please let me know of any bugs/errors/requests and I will fix right away!

Hello there, hm I uploaded and installed the product and i got a table in the AdminCP.
I added the right usergroup IDs and even the ID of my Admin Account but I don't see any options for doing "staff notices" on my board.
Where can I find it?
Maybe you forgot to tell us where to upload the three phps?
I just uploaded it to the main forum's directory.
Pls check out whether we did a mistake or you :D
P.S: There's even a bug in your readme:
"To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > VSa - Advanced Forum Rules"

Sorry about that in the demo I was trying to use someones tutorial because I knew people would understand, after installing the staff notes to go a thread and above the thread it will say Staff Notes and give you the option to post one.
Edit:
I re-looked at my code and my readme and noticed I forgot this bit:
Go to your template manager and edit "SHOWTHREAD", add "<!--STAFFNOTES-->" after {vb:raw navbar}
Sorry about that it was pretty early when I was working on it :D
Added a photo of the placement also

Hello there, the mod does work yes.
I don't know what you did, but i got to show a biiiiig issue concerning deleted posts:
If your mod is deactivated everything is perfect:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=137454&stc=1&d=1333037337
But after activating the modification it looks like this:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=137453&stc=1&d=1333037288
As you can see the header of each post has collapsed and this is a very eyecatching problem you should get fixed ;)
Thx:)

Yes, but I would prefer this mod.
1. there's no Branding.
2. the "Hidden Posts" from DB Mod are basically "Not moderated posts". If i wish I could make a new post and then hide it, this would have the same effect.
But some issues have got to be fixed as it seems ;)

I cant quite see what you are talking about but I will take a look again, can you tell me what vBulletin version you are using?
Edit: now I see what you mean, I will look into it thank you for the report. I have looked on my forums and this is not an issue so I need to know what version you are using so I can test it myself.

what you can see is my test board using 4.1.10. But there a lot of other modifications installed for testing. maybe there are some incompatibilities :( I don't know, sorry
Give me a minute, I will switch off all other Add-Ons except yours, and take a look, whether the issue still appears.
EDIT: I switched off all modifications concerning SHOWTHREAD. The issue is definitely caused by your mod ;) But I'm sure you will find the error in your code.

I tested it on vBulletin v4.1.10 and I get no errors at all, it may be your style for your forums, I will upload a picture of it installed on 4.1.10 but like I said I found no errors at all. What style are you using?
Also are you using vBulletin suite? one of my friends said he tried it on suite and it crashed his CMS so thats another issue I will have to look into. Edit: I installed vBulletin with suite and no errors!
Must be some kind of incompatability, but please post your style and I will look into that, but as far as everything else this plugin works with no problems for me on any version I use.

The only thing you have in common with my friend was glowhost, I installed it and no errors, i will install the others when I have the time and try it out, but for me and any 4.x.x I get no errors including the one with the CMS
Thanks for the mod!!

Hm I made a new testing board using 4.1.12 and default vBulletin Style. The issue with the collapsed header at deleted posts is still there, I don't have any other mods/add-ons installed yet:

Simple checks to see if they exist should suffice here. I simply deleted the table and column and had the script recreate it to finish the updates.

I noticed recently that php's error_log has been getting filled up with the following error:
PHP Deprecated: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead in displaystaff.php on line 40
I know that this can generally be ignored, but the forums do utilize mysqli. Any possibility this could get adjusted, either directly in the code for this mod or utilize vB's connection functions?
