Is this possible? Column on outside of forum..

Hey guys, I was wondering if this would be possible, and if so, can someone show me how to do it?

I want to put a sidebar column on the outside of the forum itself For example, if I have a fixed-width forum at let's say, 800px, can I then put a column off to the side of the actual forum that is not wrapped in the forum width itself?
