help - can't add new forum in 3.8

I am running 3.8 and cannot add a child forum. I go through the whole process but when I click save there is no confirmation message saying the forum has been updated and there is no change on the forum.

I have played around with the settings but nothing works. I have also copied the setting from another forum but it still doesn't work.

Any solutions? Has this happened to anyone else?

I was able to do this no problem a while back.

Check your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host).

Also, try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
