show only thread starters posts

i have members asking if there is any way that they can choose to view only the thread starters posts?

Not unless they ignore everyone else in the thread. What sense does that make? A forum is supposed to be a place for discussion.

You may have another problem like spammers or something.

No it's a fish keeping forum and for peoples threads with their tank updates other members don't want to trawl through pages of "nice tank" or "looks great" they just want to see the tank updates. But it needs to be an option they can select as the rest of the forum is for discussion so it wouldn't make much sense as you say.

There are addons that specifically mark posts by the thread starter; you could color the post's background differently, for example. This way, people could see at first glance whether a post is of interest to them or not. This may not be exactly what's wanted, but an improvement nonetheless?

You may want to consider installing a "thanks" mod. One advantage to them is they really cut down on the useless "Nice tank!" posts.
