is there any news posting script that hooks into vb and makes a post in a forum when you post news and has a comments link, not anything like Pluhnews, or whatever it is, because i do not like having to post the news itself on the forum

Thanks

How about a script that works backward?

Use vBulletin system to post news and allow a script to retrieve info. from that particular forum. IMO, it's easier to do this. A few lines of code will do.

that is EXACTLY what PluhNews (http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=21875) does.

i would you the one for newspro, but it does not have a comments link with how many have been made and you have to take extra time to tell it to add that news to the forum, i would better like one that did it right after you posted. Sorry for being picky.

Thanks

The newspro one does have a link to post comments but as far as i know it doesnt do a comment count. Maybe they fixed it. You can get it vbulletin.org (http://www.vbulletin.org).

I am using a modified post nuke to do it. I hacked it so that it creates a comments link to my forums on a different domain.

It would be even easier to hack for the same server and domain.

Works great :)

The comments link is the simple part. You just need to find a news script that you like. Then get back to me and I'll help with hooking it to your forums.

Am I able to post my own news in this hack? Is this hack anything like a news fader program that is created for ubb boards?

I used to have that running as it would change my news every 7 seconds to another headline

thanks

just wondering if I can add my own news

thanks

PluhNews works like this:

You create a news forum.

Post a new thread in your news forum.

New thread will appear on your main page. With a comments link that goes to your forum.

Its a nice hack.

You should be able to download it. What URL are you using?

I think I see what's happening (I see you on the Who's Online over at vb.com.)

Just change the 'com' to 'org' in the URL you are clicking on.
