Database error 2

I'm getting an e-mail saying that has a dababase error in a VERY LONG message, I've been talking to Lynne and he said that the important is the end of the message:

MySQL Error : Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

Look's line that the problem is ALWAYS with the showgroups.php

Any solution for that? Disable that group or whatever?

It is not a good idea to show large groups on the showgroups page.

About the error - that is a server issue. You need to contact your hosting provider and request them to increase the value for your mysql setting max_allowed_packet in the my.cnf file and then restart MySQL. I would try 32M and if that doesnt work, then try 64M.

How can I disabled the showgroups then?

I just checked the my.cnf and there is no option for that max allowed packet, I will try to add it with 32M.

Usergroup Manager > edit usergroup > Viewable on Show Groups > No
