Dear All,
I made a rule in my forum that my registered users can not download any of the attachments before they write 1st reply to be promoted to higher level, so made in the Scheduled task Manager: Scheduled Task: User Promotions to be done every 1 minute by choosing * (do not want my users to wait for 1 Hour to be promoted as the default settings in VB CP), the problem is some times it does the promotions every 1 min. (tested it realty and it is working after 2 min) and some times is not working and users can stay for hours with being promoted and can not download any thing and complain a lot

I looked at the promotion scheduled task code and couldn't see why that would happen. Do the logs say that the task is running during that the time a user is waiting? (But I can't remember if anything gets logged if no one is promoted).

I haven't tried it myself, but this mod might be another solution for what you're doing: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=233979

the log says that the task is done, but it does not show if the task is done during 1 minute from putting the reply or not

the mod looks like what I want, but why should I go for a mod while the VB CP can do it

I don't really follow that - but maybe you could edit includes/cron/promotion.php and add some log lines to figure out what's happening.

Well, maybe just for the reason you said - the vb promotions aren't really designed to immediately promote as soon as someone posts (although that might be a good mod). Other people just find it easier than creating usergroups for everything.
