How would we quote another forum's post or thread by it's URL. I always reffer to some other forums and would rather quote their post inside of my forum in a post and just display a quote just like we display quote from out own forum. But there should be a code that could grat their post in quoted text or just like that by it's URL. Please help me.. I need this mod..

Have you tried hitting the Quote button in the other forum, copying the entire text, then pasting that into a post on your board?

I meant to quote using a link such as following

[ QUOTE = Max Taxable ; 2294599 ]Have you tried.....[ / QUOTE ]

don't worry abt the spaces in above example.. could there be something like

[ QUOTE = Max Taxable ; https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=2294599 ]Have you tried.....[ / QUOTE ]

So that it will grab the text from that forum's post you know what i mean

[ QUOTE = Max Taxable ; ]Have you tried.....[ / QUOTE ]I have been known to copy the direct link to the outside post I wanna quote, then highlight the complete quote and make that the link. Like this:

Seventh grade. The school I was going to was a K-9 deal, county school. Therefore the football team and in fact all sports was a combined 7th, 8th and 9th grade squad. I played football, and one October day we were playing a area small town's junior varsity team (the city schools didn't want any of us, we have 100 kids on our roster, and they're all either 7th, 8th or 9th grade teams, not combined like we were. So we had to play whoever would schedule us.) So here I am, because of some injuries, a skinny 7th grader thrown into a dogfight against sophomores and juniors. Playing corner. Right around that time in the game they figured out they could have some success running sweeps to my side. And they did. Repeatedly. I had to grow some hard bark that day, the hard way. We did win the game though. But I had dozens of bruises, pop-knots, and lumps all over me. What's your Lumpy story? (http://usmessageboards.com/showpost.php?p=112143&postcount=1)

what i actually meant is to iframe or like grab the contents of that thread/post by a URL

[Quote=http://usmessageboards.com/showpost.php?p=112143&postcount=1[/QUOTE]

OR <IFRAME>http://usmessageboards.com/showpost.php?p=112143&postcount=1[/FRAME]

SOMETHING LIKE THAT..

SOMETHING LIKE THAT..You want a plugin that does this automatically, that grabs the correct URL for the quoted post from the other board? The problem is how would it know where to grab the URL, and it's different on every board software type as well. You would have to have a pretty large definitions code.

just quote it in a normal way then select all text and then hyperlink it.
