Best OS for vBulletin?

I've got a small to medium sized board, a few hundred posts a day, 2-300k posts total. I'm wondering for a site that size, does it matter which Linux distro it runs one? It's been on CentOS for the last few years and that's been working fine. But, I'm moving to a cloud server from Rack Space and I can run quite a few different os's. Just wondering if there's a better choice than CentOS.

if PHP and MySQL are well served on your server, vBulletin will go along, no bug...

We are using Windows Server 2008 on a large board. It works very well for us. :)

Why?

Even before you tweak it, just outside box, you're already using less resources than Cent OS or Windows. After tweaking it, you're going to fly at high speeds.

Add dotdeb.org into your repository, along with Debian Back Port & you should be off to a good start.

I'm partial to OpenBSD for my vB install. All the major requirements (MySQL, PHP, Apache) are readily available with pkg_add and I end up with a slim & trim functional webserver. The CMS answers from the IP and 4 more virtualhosts are available also (static html sites)

I also have Debian running Apache2 as well as a install of Arch running Apache just to not be bored. They are all in VM's on ESXi so it's easy to revert to a snapshot and try something new from a base .iso install.

Roundcubemail is buried inside my vB and hooks up to another OpenBSD Postfix server for mail on all the virtual sites.
