filedata table crashes

Several times the filedata table will crash and I will have to go into myphpadmin and repair the table then optimize it. This weekend it happened Friday night and then again on Sunday morning early AM. This has happened before I started to install some mods. Is there a way that I can determine what is crashing it. My hosting provider backs up the database on a nightly, weekly and monthly basis. It has happen 5 times now. Hardware or software problem? I am vb4.1.3 version.

Have you talked to your host about this? Looked at any of the server logs to see if there is anything in there?

Looked at any of the server logs to see if there is anything in there?I had this happen on the holidays and it was before I knew that I could repair the table by myself. I felt hostage before and their response was we are short handed at this time. I will light a fire under their :D next time it happens.
