I bought the license about 8 months ago and from the beginning, I've been trying to get help with building the site properly. I've spent a lot of money and have received very little for it. The developer currently working for me is concentrating on building a website, so I'm not including him with the rest of the crooks...he's actually doing something.

I know it needs a lot of work, so if someone wants to do a review and a proposal, I'd like to see both. Most of the work has been done by myself, but I know my limitations and I can be much more productive doing other things than trying to learn this program.

I really don't see that you have done a whole lot except change the colors and the logo. Was there something specifically you wanted us to look at?

I would get a background image - something light, but just something to add to the look. The logo/header area could also use a background or change of color. I'm not a big fan a plain brown which is probably why I am wanting some background to the site.

Yeah, I started with trying to change the statusicons. I made my own and wanted them installed along with some other color changes. Simple enough task (I thought), but every developer wanted to "re-do" the whole site for one price. 8 months later...I'd still like to change the statusicons.

hmmm- if you're actually requesting a paid service - I'd be happy to consult with you regarding stylistic elements of your current skin.

Unfortunately not all freelance projects go as planned, but if you've requested before via the paid requests area - you should definitely leave feedback regarding the designer(s) service.

But yeah - I agree with Lynne = you've done very minimal changes from the default. There's room for a lot of improvement.

Good luck ;)

Go for premium themes, should cost about 30-45 USD per theme licence or just take up a theme from the Style section and do customization on it. If you need Graphic work post here and I'll link you to some good stuff.

Goo luck.

Here it is after some real work by Socialteenz...I'm very happy with his work. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to make the home page less cluttered looking?

I think it looks great with the changes you made. I like the look of the search in the header. Nice job.:up:

Looks really good :) However, it took forever to load all of those graphics.

I like the header and table category backgrounds. I have a suggestion about making it look less cluttered as well as I think help your forum in general...i would consolidate forums. I think you have too many for a smaller site. I think it is far better to start with more general forums and add to them as your site grows.

Also try making a few main category forums, and then have forums in those categories...this will not only help from an organizational standpoint it will also help visually with your forum homepage.
