Human Verification

Good Evening,

I currently have my board set to reCAPTCHA for sign-ups. I have also tried changing this to any of the other Verification options, but still get the same issue.

I am getting 10-15 accounts per day signing up which are clearly bogus accounts, but they are still managing to sign up, verify the emails for me to then have to delete them when they come through for moderation. I do not want to have to use moderation but at the moment I have to. Once any of these accounts get active, they automatically post spam on the forums.

Is this a flaw in my setup?

I think there are bots that can get past the recaptcha. Try changing to "question and answer", and just make up a few simple questions.

reCaptcha is useless.

I too faced the same issue, I got many spam bots registering so it's nothing wrong you have done

the moment I changed the verification method to Question and Answers

I got 0 spam bots

it is very hard for them to get past this one

I'm on Q&A only and have been getting about 50+ a day.

I think it's related to the malware I've (and other vbv sites it seems) to have picked up on the site.

Very frustrating.
