View Full Version : (Yet another) Story Posting Hack

I'm working on (yet another) story posting hack, similar to the (supposedly deceased BFC Weblog System), but it'll go about it in a different way. It'll replace PHPSlash-run Highervoltage.net

The article page is seperate from the forum page, but the thread will appear on the article page (if that makes sense). For an semi-example it's at http://www.highervoltage.net/ but the difference is that the threads will appear on the same page as the article.

I've got an incredibly basic version up and running but I plan to spruce it up a little and make it decent.

Here's hoping!

When I click on the link to your website with my Netscape browser, I get a blue page with nothing on it. However when I'm using my IE browser I get your page loaded up perfectly. I don't know if you are aware of this problem.

sounds exactly like a problem i had with the table and form tags being incorrect and netscape spitting chips at it

Well geez look at the source code in netscape to that page

There is a </head> before a <head>, there is a <tr><td> in the head section with no <table> to go along with it.

There are a lot of tables so I quit looking but if you miss on </td>, </tr>, </table> and netscape will barf on you.

On one hand, Netscape is great for catching HTML errors you've made while coding...

On the other hand, it's a +++++ to actually use on a day-to-day basis - too many poorly-designed sites...
