How to change the way threads/posts are displayed

Hi,

How do one change the way that the threads and posts are displayed. What I mean is that if you look at the forum here at vbulletin.org then the threads / posts are diplayed next to each other in seperate columns.

example: 134740

But when you have a default install of vbulletin then the threads and posts are diplayed on top of each other in the same column.

example: 134741

So how do I change it to the top one?

I think it's just that it's been redesigned for vb4 and this site still uses vb3 (don't ask). But I don't see why you couldn't edit the templates to display it however you'd like.
