ok, i disabled the sidebar everywhere and the issue is still there. My background is all grey.

I went into the additional.css and removed the eTiKeT 2011 Postbit_legacy script and the grey was gone and my site was back to normal. Somewhere in the script it is causing my entire site to have a grey background. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really love the look of this.

I peeked to day and the site looked normal but this postbit enhancement wasn't there
I would putit back as you did the first time
the side bar has nothing to do with it
unless you added something in the wrong area
pratice makes perfect

Ok i just re-installed it. Same issue from adding the script in step 1 into the additional.css template. Forces my entire site to have a grey background color of #efefef

Also is there a way to have a default avatar for users who don't have one.?

seems to have a common css thats over riding something on the fourms.

Got it figured out. Putting the script at the top of the additional.css was overriding the other scripts. Moved it to the end of the additional.css and the issue has been resolved.

Hello,

I have a fixed skin on my forum just like the one used here at vbulletin.org and as soon as i installed this mod it made my forum went to full width and i don't like that is there a fix for this.

Any help is appriciated..

Fixed! pretty much i had to do the same thing the guy above suggested i put the css code in the bottom instead of the top and everything stayed the same.

i have a better solution for the CSS

i created eTiKeT.css

and placed
{vb:cssfile eTiKeT.css} in Postbit_legacy at the top, this way im not touching additional.css

as i have said before about this

each mod installed for the postbit_legacy template needs to be converted witht he correct tags

if not this mod will not show up properly
all people have done is posted images and not the code

please post the code of the mod you are having issues with

If you have a custom style installed please remember to link the style, if we dont have the style installed in order to support your request we can't help, so heres my suggestion for support on this mod

1) Post Link to issue ( preferably a postlink )
2) post mod installed for the request you need ( e.g. DTech Thank you MOD )

there are many that can help and quicker support it given when the details of the issue is shown rather than explained

i can give 1 BIG tip, which is about diferent styles

Postbit_legacy ( standard templates )
ensure that you replace postbit_legacy template with the postbit_legacy.txt file located in the download, some of the Postbit_legacy may need to be changed to support the style but easier to support

As you can see on the attachment the tournaments joined etc the number is below and not at the side as it should be, every time I add a mod which adds anything to the postbit this same issue occurs and it looks pretty messy.

Thanks, the top part worked perfect, the bottom part completely wrecked my forums, signatures were all over the place as were medals, the edit posts etc were all messed up and you couldn't see anyones actual posts.

you need to be more specific on the support you need
each time you update your forum tags in templates tend to change

this will also be the same for mods that add information to the postbit_legacy template

this is the basic structure you need to follow

Unfortunately, the only one defect we need to solve to run correctly in VB4.2.0pl3.

The info in the second box could be generic for everyone (ie add comment in postbit_legacy) or it could be different dependant on usergroup - if you can clarify can it even be done?

That's duplicating the mis aligned thanks. Remove that line of code and the new version will work.

Hope the info helps. As I say mate I spent hours & hours getting it right so happy to save others going grey by providing the *correct* code to make it all work.

As you seen on my site, it can look pretty good when you spend time on it :)

Regards the location - sorry, on user "moparxxxxxx" from your forum, his location is too long so merges into the new "posts" line like so:

If you restrict characters in the location field (custom fields) to 15/16 then it'll always stay in the one line :)

This is a VERY nice hack. I can see how it won MOTM :up:

A few tweaks and this will be a nice addition.

Please look at the screenshot below. The area in the red square condenses any images in there (makes them smaller). We'd like to make this area taller to see if it fixes the problem. Where do we do this at? Also, how do we center everything inside of that red square area?

I also made a custom Postbit Legacy awhile back, but I never released the code to the public. I like Etiket Postbits though, they are really good.

NOTE: I did not use any code or images from Etiket, its my very own code and images.

If anyone would like to know how I made this postbit, send me a message. If a lot of people start messaging me wanting the postbit, I will just have to release the code on vB.org. But it took me a very long time to get my custom postbit perfect, it took a lot of trial and error, and a lot of testing. So I have the code all over the place, and its a lot of vB code and CSS, its just spread out in so many places. So if I do release it, it will take some time, since I have to gather the CSS and put it in one place. So it will be easier to install for the end-user.

Sorry to drag up one from the past, but does anyone know why some avatars are not showing as the correct resized version? My Registered Users permissions are set to only be able to display 150x150 avatars, which is working correctly for the first poster.
