I would guess those are classes and they are defined in your Main CSS Page in the Style Manager.

These are listings in my new chat box I installed and it says to pick either tcat or thead which one do I choose or does it matter.

TCAT is the color of your Table Categories. THEAD is the color of your Table Headers. You pick the one you like most.
