how can I control spam bots

I am currently using vb 4.0.3 . I am using image verification question and random question to control bots during registration ..but some how 3-4 bots keeps registering with simila email addresses every day...their email is usually maymieu9@yahoo.com, tutuannu79@yahoo.com, manchan245@yahoo.com, thiepthi55@yahoo.com ..

evyday they register with the same name but different numbers..how can i possibly not let them register.. any help would be highly appreciated...

well..it doesn't seem to block them yet..I have submitted their data to stopforumspam.. i can only pray..

I would just change your Q&A's to something more difficult for them to answer. You can drop image verification entirely - it was cracked long ago.

Note that you'll never get rid of spammers. We haven't had a spambot register since using Q&A, but that doesn't stop the humans - and likely nothing will.

I had a real spam problem a couple of weeks ago then changed from image to question, my question is now

"have you joined this forum just to spam?" obviously requiring the answer "no" LOL that stopped them all.

Yes; im request some like 2+2+6 requeiring 10 to answer, it stoppped.
