Hi all,

I have been struggling with vB CMS and vB Blogs and decided to use Wordpress as frontpage/blog solution. I found a bridge (http://www.lampwrights.com/showthread.php?t=41) and some instructions to make it work as frontpage (http://www.the8thlegion.com/threads/20043-Wordpress-As-vBulletin4-Homepage)

However, I have not found any clarity about these few points, and I'm sure some of you must have experience with this, so I hope you guys/girls can help me out here.

- will i install vB and Wordpress in a different database, yes or no? or just prefixed in the same db, and for what reason.
- will i install vB and Wordpress in the same directory (in my case the website root), or will that be a problem? (i run an active community so i can't just reinstall vB if you know what i mean)

Thanks for all of your time,
Daniel

PS: also found this link, the latest post said i have to do it in the same directory (https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/324214-VB4-amp-Wordpress-bridge)
but won't the two index.php files (and maybe other overlapping files) conflict then?

Sorry for bumping, but can anyone please share their experience with me?

Sorry for bumping, but can anyone please share their experience with me?I am at work right now so I do not have server access but from what I can remember, I used softalicious to install wordpress on the same domain as my forum.

Softalicious automatically creates a database and a username to go with your wordpress installation's database.

If you don't have softalicious then you would have to create your database and add it to your main database and create a user and assign it to that database that you created for wordpress.

When assigning a user to your wordpress database check everything except create view.

----

if you install wordpress into your forum domain it would overwrite your forum index.php. Go ahead and save the contents of your forum index.php.

You could simply just create a copy or rename your forum index.php

When wordpress creates the index.php as you install it, then you can do the index.php edits that I outlined in the thread.

Hi,
i also use wordpress as CMS. I put the wordpress-installation in a folder (like www.forumblabla.de/wordpress) and use a different database for wordpress.
Next, i installed this mod:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=270517&highlight=vbsso
Everything works fine, this mod catches the avatars from vbulletin if someone leaves a comment.
Hope that helps,
greetings,
Peter
