While developing a new style for the forum we modified the default style and CSS. In hindsight it was not our cleverest move but it was a part of the learning curve. Now when we try to create a new style from scratch instead of it being based on the vanilla vBulletin default style it is based on our current style. Is there any way we can upload a copy of the original style and CSS files without over-writing our current live style? We have already exported / downloaded a copy of our current style as a precaution.
Thanks.

I seem to have come up with a question that has defeated the hive mind.

I seem to have come up with a question that has defeated the hive mind. It's more likely that it's just that the right folks haven't seen it. I might not be that right one, but:
You should be able to download your current style xml file, rename it, and re-upload it is a new style not dependent on any others. Then you should be able to overwrite the current live style with the default vBulletin style, using the files from your package.
BUT NOTE FIRST: You'll want to move the image files for your custom style into a new directory on your site, like /yourstylename before uploading the overwrite. Then you can go into the style manager for your custom style, and set the image file paths manually.
I am pretty sure I am giving you the "hard way" to do this, and probably missed something, but having bumped the thread for you maybe there's a chance someone with more knowledge will see it.
