Sometimes your websites require more than just the typical "title" and "message" fields in topics. This vbulletin mod allows you to create and manage different fields separately.

You may not alter the template to take out our link titled "Extra Threadfields".


What features does this hack provide?
Add extra fields to threads. These include:
Text fields
Select Drop Down Fields
Radio Fields
Checkbox Fields
Enhanced extra threadfields manager - Premium Only *new
Search through fields within forums (forumdisplay.php) - Premium Only *new
Search through fields in search.php - Premium Only
Control order in which fields are displayed
Edit thread fields via the "edit thread" page
Edit thread fields via the "edit post" page - Premium Only *new

Re-download the zip and overwrite the threadfields_admin.php file (you don't need to re-import the product again, just overwrite that file in admincp folder), you should be good to go :)

Can someone who has first hand experience with this mod, tell me if you can set the fields to be completed when a user posts a new thread and eliminate the field question completion requirement when a user is replying to a thread?

It's very good after a few tweaks that you'll have to talk to Gio about after it's installed.

However, after the tweaks (which I'm sure after my chat session with Gio, will be fixed), it's worth buying and using.

No Gio did not pay me to give it the thumbs up, but I thought I would mention this here as Gio was really good on the support and followup end.

i've tried. great mod. however does on premium version we can set more than 1 forum id so that we can use on some forum IDs? Because on this free version i see that i only can enter one ID.

Correct you are! The premium is the one that lets you enter multiple ;)

Nicely done. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with the mobile theme. Any chance this can be done without template edits? I think this works with hooks and apparently the mobile theme doesn't play nicely with this addon. (Don't blame you, a lot of inconsistency with mobile choices.) How about Apps like tapatalk? I'd love to be able to use it.

Confirmed - doesn't show in the mobile skin (can be fixed with a variable) but also doesn't show up on the entry side either. If this is a hook, this means no mobile, desktop only. Let us know if you can do this. I'd be interested.

And of course if you mean the default-installed vbulletin mobile skin, that won't work, because that skin is recognized as "mobile" skin.

I think it is a "flaw" on vb's mobile system itself, imho.
I used to use Dartho's theme but updating it regularly was an incredibly painful process. It was easier adapting vBulletin's beginning attempt at a mobile theme, which also was better at behind held by cookies and more usable on tablets. Still, there are challenges as you allude to.

Edit thread page is accessed by going to Thread Tools -> Edit Thread

Edit post is clicking the edit button and then clicking "go advanced"

Bought the PRO Version and it is compatible with 4.2.0 but does not work 100% on our page.
Support (even for paid customers) is currently very slow.
Waiting since days to get a useful answer in order to solve the current issue that we have with this addon :down:
Hope that it has to do with the developer working on vB 5.x addons and that this is not the general service I can expect in future because the offered products are great and I want to buy more. Atm. waiting for the one issue to be solved and if service is good I am willed to buy more.

I tested today the light version on a fresh copy of vb4.2 pl3, but it works in thread pages and didn't in forumdisplay page and it missed the looking of the page !!

I believe that by changing:

it will works ;). Just search the full product xml file. Most probably there are more instances on this.

At the moment they're searchable via forumdisplay.php, just not search.php. Working on search.php itself for the next update. Our first focus was making sure they were searchable on forumdisplay.php

Auto expire isn't a foreseeable feature for this as it isn't directly related. Integer in a drop down is definitely possible, but range searching would currently need to be a custom modification.

You can always use css to accomplish making it bigger - it if you're familiar, otherwise you'd have to edit code.

In the Extra Fields Manager, move your curser over the actual question. It will show the ID of the question.
But, I just tested the authors fix and it does not work for me on vb4.2.2.

I am getting this same error, except with the free version. I also got:

In the product find all instances of TYPE=MyISAM and change to ENGINE=MyISAM reimport product.
