So I've just set up a User Title system (Extra -> Speaking Part -> etc.) and find it massively unfair that:
someone with 1000 empty one sentence posts >>>>>> someone with 400 great detailed posts

So, is there anyway to work User Titles or Promotions of Word Count instead of Post Count?

I've been looking for the same Mod, for the same reason!

Does anyone at least know of any Word Count mods? I just find it annoying the "status" of Posts is completely unrepresentative of contribution.

And I see you posted in a similar thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=208081) two years ago James! I can't believe no-one considers the quality > quantity issue as something worthy of modding.

That's a good point. But I think reputation takes care of that somewhat, since you have people actually reading the posts and judging them (although I guess that can turn in to a popularity contest). In a way, word count is just another measure of quantity.

Anyway, I'll take a look at this idea (unless someone points out where it already exists :) )

I think reputation takes care of that somewhat, since you have people actually reading the posts and judging them (although I guess that can turn in to a popularity contest). That's my thought, and as such I've never used reputation. We don't have a lot of active registered members so I'm not sure it would work well, though I'm gong to look into it.

In a way, word count is just another measure of quantity.Well yes. But quantity of words is a measure of actual quantity. Wheras post count actually isn't. I just visited a competing (busier) forum where, no word of a lie, many of the posts in the thread I read were just single smilies. Post count is no indicator of quantity.

Anyway, I'll take a look at this idea (unless someone points out where it already exists.I'd really appreciate that.
