I am thinking about going with a lighter template instead of darker because a lot of my members are having hard times sometimes finding threads.

Your hosting and game servers cost you $700.00 a month?
You migh ask the company that owns the game you play for some support. I had a kid staying at the hotel I worked at in Baton Rouge that not only did they give him hosting for his forum they paid for the software as well. The kid and his team played on the company servers. And got paid 1000.00 a month. I confirmed all this with the kids sister who worked with me at the hotel.
So it might not hurt to make some inquires... Might ease the donate pressure.

No, that's donations we received this month.
We received more donations this month than usual because we had a custom design made.
Before you jump into conclusions you might want to ask why...
Our actual goal is $150 a month since we run a dedicated server.
Back to topic, I think I am done with modifications for now other than adding a roster page.
Going to have a custom one made.

I moved off the website to a new server.
Everything should load a lot faster.
We use to have the website on a shared host.
With flash and heavy images on the forums we decided to go with WiredTree VPS.
Our website loads even faster.
Images even load faster.
Loaded my website on my iPhone on 3g very fast too.
BTW I disabled flash for iPhone, so they don't get the ugly X telling them its not supported by the browser.
So it's a win win situation for all!
