Unless I have overlooked it, I can not find a mod like this by searching the forum. You are wanting a mod that will notify a user's friends when that user makes a new thread, correct?

example:
John creates a thread and your friends receive a notification that John has created a thread.

is there any way to add a button or link in postbit "Add to my friend" (if it is not) and "Remove from my friends" (if it is)?
