and i know there was a box ,sometime ago,
and now i dont have that option,and when i want to edit something i have to look to all the code,to find it,
so can anyone tell me whats going on?

Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

In your browser, hit CTRL + F and paste the word(s) / phrase you are searching for. If you are in FireFox , hitting "/" will work as well.

It is still there on mine, so either you have a modification interfering with it, or an incorrectly uploaded file.

well,i did fresh install with 4.1.4 (now upgraded to 4.1.5) ,and it was not there...so,dont know why.
i even remember when i was running 4.0.8 it was not there too.
thanks
What browser do you use? The search control is only included if the code thinks you have a browser that will support it (since the actual searching is done in javascript).
