Paid Registration

I am not sure what I am missing but I am searching and can't find a clear answer.

Any help would really be appreciated.

This is my goal:

Invite BETA testers onto the forum for 1 month to test the forum for free.
After one month they need to subscribe either monthly or yearly.

After the BETA test month is done, anyone who registers much purchase a subscription. I do not want people to register and then pick a subscription. I want them to have to pick a subscription at registration.

I am confused by what I am reading. Does vb force you to let people register for free and then you can point them to a subscription option?

Perhaps someone can just clarify for me about how to force signing up for a subscription during the registration process.

I am already set up through paypal and I did a test communication. All is working. But, I don't think I did something right. People are still allowed to register for free and are not directed to the subscription page. Did I forget to link something?
