I just went to the vBulletin site and the latest version to download is 4.0.1 Patch Level 2. I have an owned (but inactive) liscense. Do I need to renew it just to download this latest version?

you would have to renew to get access to the newer versions or use microclassifieds version 4.9.5

We just upgraded tp PHP 5.3.6 and I believe that is when the deprecated errors showed up. That is all that Guests see but if you are registered it flashes and then still proceeds to the Classifieds. I know we need to look into this so if you have ideas on that as well...

There is no option that I have found, so while I am testing, I've wrapped the "microclassifieds_tabmenu" template with the following code

At the top:
<vb:if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, x,x,x)">
x = the usergroup numbers that you want to be able to see the Classifieds Tab

At the bottom:
</vb:if>

You could also do this in the plugin too, but I didn't want it to affect all templates.

We've gone back to PHP 5.2.17 as both this mod and vBGarage appear to be incompatible with PHP 5.3.x. It resolved the issues you were seeing when trying to visit my link, but I am still having the same issue with the Get RSS link.

You can open Products & Plugins -> Plugin Manager and find the MicroClassifieds plugins. One of them will reference the NAVTAB. Just uncheck that one so it is not active and you will no longer have the NAVTAB.

Still seems kinda buggy tho. when someone buys something you get a pm, then nothing shows under sold or pending only accept. under that tabs the drop down only gives you two options, delete or reject. also, I had two members try to test it out, both posts were unable to be place until moderation, so I went to approve them from the drop down box and it basically gets stuck, the only way to approve them is to go to the ad, click on edit, then on approve. this has such potential for an awesome add-on.

i have no issue approving the ads from moderator drop down.
i have not tested the buy yet with the new version will have to check that out

i tested the buying of an item. the process works fine. got a PM informing me of the sale but there is an issue with the PM a small spelling error. a \ character in the word don't also the links for accept and reject are wrong. it starts with http://\"http:// and ends with a "

Expiration and automatic deletion is a very good feature. I understand expired ads get deleted after a certain number of days as specified in the settings.

It would be really nice if the person who placed that Classified receives a PM/email when an ad expired and they have the possibility to renew that Classified in their CP or link in the PM/Email.

there is a link in the PM to accept sale but the link is wrong.
if you goto your user control panel and on the classified tab there is another tab to accept the sale. i have reported both errors already

Hello all,

It got me 2 full days but finally I succeeded to put under control the incompatibility with non-English characters in listings. Along it this version has some other fixes and some corrections/additions, as per list below:

Fixed the problem with non-English characters in listings
Added the missing category name in listings
Added phrases to listings
Corrected and added some missing PMs
Added PM to seller when the an Ad is deleting by the system after expiration.By the way a want to warn you for something very important. By using the datamanager to send PMs, it also activates the vB feature to send an email to user that a PM is waiting him on the forums. But there is a disadvantage here. These emails are sending by the Daily Digets cron, and thus, as the name says, it runs once a day. So if the user waits the emails, most probably will lost many Ads, as someone else maybe has bought before. That's why inform your users to keep an eye on their PM's inbox and don't waith the daily email. Sure you can change this cron to run more often. This is up to you.

To upgrade you must upload ALL files, as there are many changes. Finally import the product-microclassifieds.xml

*** ATTENTION ***
As it's impossible to follow all posts before, if after upgrading to ver.5.1.1, you still have problem with something, please post it again. But please only bugs and not design issues, much more not suggestion for new features. First, let's have a 100% stable version and then we will have time for everything else.

Do you mean that if you select any category, then all fields (title, location etc) are giving this error, or only if you try to change the sort order in categories?

The only thing I noticed is the searchable fields are not showing up in the actual Classified. I have 7 extra searchable fields for this classified but none are showing up: http://saabworld.net/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=5&urlid=2

Sorry you can't. As for removing it from the navbar_menu, you need to edit the template:
microclassifieds_usercp_links and remove the line:

Sorry Brian but I can't reproduce this bug in my installation at:

Could you please try there? If it works there, then you haven't upload all the files, or you need to clear your browser's cache. Of course there is a chance to not have understand (me), what's the real issue.

Hi Chris, thanks for that. It's certainly solved the problem of the sale going ahead when accepting. However, the link that it provides in the PM to accept or reject the sale is still mangled.

The only that I found there missing is that if the Ad type = 2 (Wanted), then really is not activating again (Fixed in 5.1.2). But for sales and auction at least the code seems ok.

What I found missing is when the Ad type = 2 (Wanted), and I fixed in 5.1.2. The rest 2 types works (at least seeing the code), just keep in mind that it checks if the Ad has expired. If it has expired, for sure keeps it hidden.

in the items table there is a field called standyby (not hidden) that set to 1 when someone clicks on the buy button. if the seller rejects the offer that field doesnt reset to 0.
with that field at 1 the item still shows up normally but when someone tries to click the buy button they get a message saying that someone else already clicked the buy button before them.

Try with this file Dave. Not sure if it will works or will have a missing /, but I removed the domain URL. Seems that vB adds bbcode to [URL=....], that's why appears double the http.

5.1.2 removed the error message while sorting within a category. Problem now, is that if you push the arrow the sorting will collect information from all categories, like in advanced search.

2) In the profile tab, there is no 'Post at' time for each classified

4) In advanced search: The location drop down box doesn't follow the width of the letters. It cuts them and is too narrow. There doesn't seem to be the same problem with the other drop downs.

5) Non-latin letters are not respected in the drop down of a 'seachable field' (created in admin) in sorting within advanced search . It will show them but it will not sort them. In stead it will write 'No records found'.

6) Furthermore I have found some more non translatable phrases. But I guess you prefer to get the primary bugs scrubbed first.

Hello :) first many many thanks for this nice ad from the developer. Iam not a big coder crack and so i have a question about the microclassified plug in. I have installed the xml and upload the stuff in the mainfolder from my page (allcorrect) . After this i see the classifieds Button in the navbar, but if i click it it says i dont have the permission to view the page <.< . I be logged in as admin with all rights , hmmm how can i solve the problem ? If i rename the classified button in user shops it doesnt work too , it says saved but no result at the vbulletin board , I use 4.1.5

No:) Most probably this time is an issue of working 14h a day. Sure I added them in the template (except if there is any typo) and sure I added them in the code. Maybe I forgot to declare the variable, or I have a typo in the variable. Should be ok in 5.1.3 later today with other fixes. Fixed in 5.1.3

Photos per row is valid only if you've turn off the carousel. To see your photos at that place seens that you've it on. Look at the attachement how it looks in my demo installation. Are you sure that the classifieds.css file exists at microclassifieds/includes/ ?
Otherwise turn off the carousel (admincp->microclassifieds->general settings).

If (as you wrote) have you build a custom block for Classifieds, then you can easily add the options there copyring the links from the template microclassifieds_tabmenu.

I know it worked before, and the only thing that changed was I installed another mod (vbActivity) on both. But I have disabled it with the same problem remaining. Can I run update.php again? Will that make a difference?

If I were a coder/developer I would have probably already done something like that, but I'm not. I'm sure stuff like that is easy to do, when you know how to do it. I would have thought my ignorance on how to do what I have asked to do, would have stood out simply by my asking.

I can't duplicate it. I found them to be searchable ok, and ordering ok. Testing them with Greek I just foung an error in sorting (some letters are in wrong position), but this is a known global MySQL bug for ordering the Greek alphabet.

Just re-upload all the file from the latest version and then re-import product-microclassifieds.xml. It works for sure. It's also strange that carousel is not working on your site. As a final test you can inactivate (not uninstall) all 3nd party mods, and turn them on one by one to see which confilsts with classifieds.

Thanks Chris - you are doing an incredible job. Please don't burn yourself out. This has so much potential.

I found the problem (sort of). It's a skinning problem. I changed some css/php to get the colors, etc. to match my site. I must have done something that affected something else. I am not that experienced with skinning changes. Using the default skin fixes the problem.

But at least I have something to work with now. However, I don't think I changed anything except colors. At least I didn't intend to. Is there anyway that could/should affect functionality?

Don't say that. vB4 is very strange with styling. The screenshoot that you shown me about the carousel meant that the carousel as code was working. But it shown the photos as "<li>" which means one per line. That's why I asked you if you've uploaded the classifieds.css. At that file there is styling code which converts those "<li>" in that beautiful (I want to believe) carousel.

OK, I understand. But I hate taking anymore of your time. I know how much you've been working on this. But believe me it shows. I looked at one example classified site that posted a link earlier - a reptile site. The classifieds were super nice. I only wish I can get them like that. I'm sure I have done something dumb.

But yes, the classified.css was there. So I am assuming the software is supposed to take the old pics and convert them to the Carousel automatically? I'll play around some more with the default skin on and see if things continue to work OK. If not, then I will be back with more questions. :(

Please bear with me, I think I have discovered a few useful things. I will place the Carousel issue on hold and only address the BUY IT problem that was taking users to my Forum Home Page.

First, I was apparently experiencing a conflict with a (javascript) Google type Translation Button I placed in the header. It was contributing to what I will explain. Note - I am experimenting with and older version and the newest, but the issue I am trying to explain is the same for both at this point.

I have things set so non-logged in users can only "use" (see) the classifieds. So when I view them as a user I see the "Please Login or Register to be able to Post and Bid in our Classifieds" under the Nav Bar. When I click on that message it takes me to the Home Page where I register and then everything is fine as to the BUY IT problem. Is that how it should be? I would think I should be taken to the log in page.

However, when the Translate Button is in the header, for some reason I can be logged in on the forum and when I go to the Classified, it doesn't recognize that I am logged in - because I still see the message under the NavBar to log in. I just noticed that. So when I click on BUY IT, I am apparently taken to where it wants me to log in - or in this case I am again taken to my Home Page as the link to where I sign in.

So, if you understand me, I think this problem is only the result of the link from the classifieds (in both the old and new version) to a place to log in is a link to my default home page, and not the log in page.

The issue now is that with the older classifieds version logging in on the forum is honored in the classified. But in the newer version, if I log in to the forum and go to the classified, it doesn't know I am logged in. In fact I can't seem to log in to the classified at all. Please see the attachment.

FYI - I believe the Carousel problem goes away when I take the Translate Button away. I'll worry about that later.

Is it possible to disable the reputation part of this mod, either completely or by user group? In other words, I'd like to use the mod normally but users would not be able to rate the transactions. I'm asking this because of legal implications.

you can change the permissions so that the buy it button doesnt appear unless they are logged in. that is how i have mine set

You need to build a new language file for the datagrid. Get any file from microclassifieds/datagrid/languages and rename it. eg dk. When you finishe, upload it and then goto General Settings and set Grid Language: dk

You must edit the follow part of the function time_duration at microclassifieds/includes/

ATTENTION: The words that you'll use must have the first letter UNIQUE. "M" and "m" is ok, but "m" and "m" will cause problems.

Can't be changed. So remove "F" from the data long format at General settings.

Plugins Manager (Just below of Product Manager). In the section for microCLASSIFIEDS (right side), you'll see 2 with the name Location (I forgot to change the name for the 2nd). Choose the one in the hook "member_complete". Around 15th line you'll see: $blockinfo['title'] = "Classifieds";

the easiest way to find the id for marquee is to goto the product page and look at the URL it says itemid=xxx that is the number

Yes, I did that and got an ID that looked like this 10&urlid=2

I placed that in the field for the marquee and received a database error when trying to access the Classifieds again.

Is that a proper ID?

Sorry, I give up. I have the priority for the usergroup set at "1" and the ads have the box checked for premium. And the premium ads show up on the pages when I click an individual ad. But I have none on the First/Opening Page.

i used phpmyadmin to access the dbase than changed the premium fields on the items i wanted to show up and on the profiles as well too

Well, I guess I'm beating this into the ground. But I am having difficulty understanding. If they are already appearing on the Category Pages, and on the Individual Ad Pages, then it would appear to me they are already designated as Premium Ads - just not showing on Page 1. Possibly a conflict with the Marquee?????

I tried to confirm this as I have various test ads up trying to sort out another problem. In general, I have been having problems with editing ads.

I wasn't able to duplicate your result, but instead the ad stayed were it was on the main page, but in reality it was moved to the category I moved it to. And yes I cleared the cache.

But my biggest issue remains the Premium ads. And not able to change the setting. The check box will change when I click on it, but it will not save the setting. Not even for me as admin and a certified/premium profile.

We need the ability for user's to be able to pay to post premium ads. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind the current functionality of having free premium ads. Wouldn't everyone want premium ads?

Also can you tell me which templates I need to edit in order to place a box containing the controls form the usercp in the sidebar? I think quick access to classified controls is an absolute must since many of my users only use my board for selling.

what i did was create another usergroup and add premium users into that category that paid extra for premium service (ability to add more ads than normal user and premium listings)
you can setup paid subscriptions to do this automatically if you want

Not sure what you mean. the user should only be able to edit their own unless they are granted moderator permission in the usergroup settings

I can confirm the captions were working fine on a 4.x.x install I was using before I upgraded to 5.1.2

I sure hope that function returns as most of the ads I will be placing include "packages" that have several items with pics that need to be labeled with names. And I believe the fields are still there to fill in for captions.

Do you have your Listing Priority set at "1" in the UserGroup microClassified Permission settings? (It is the last option) And the user set as a certified user?

I am still unsure exactly what is required to get Premium ads to show. So I set both.

You need to go to Forum Block Manager and remove them. Is the last option in the menu section where you add Forums. And the next time when you'll need to build a widget for CMS don't forget to uncheck the Forum Sidebar Block.

This mod is the best thing since sliced bread but I think that there is a critical thing missing before it can be used on a public board.

We need the ability for user's to be able to pay to post premium ads. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind the current functionality of having free premium ads. Wouldn't everyone want premium ads?

Also can you tell me which templates I need to edit in order to place a box containing the controls form the usercp in the sidebar? I think quick access to classified controls is an absolute must since many of my users only use my board for selling.

Then they can edit their post along with everyone else's. Is there a status update on the pm bug yet? if the user clicks on my settings on the navbar in the classified section
than my classifieds
there is a drop down list for each ad in the action column
from there they can edit their ad. and their ad only.

still looking into the PM error. i havent seen chris post anything about it either.

in a searchable field, if it is a dropdown, can we allow for selecting multiple values? alternatively, have both a min/max boxes for neumerical.

the PM to people watching the ad is giving the error not the PM to seller which explains why the PM was sent.
i personally dont see a reason to PM other people if someone PM's the seller so i will leave it out.

i just released i skipped over your last question. if you use the autopost option the ad will be re-listed if someone clicks the buy option. otherwise once the buy button is clicked it becomes hidden until the seller accepts or rejects the buy. the user can than delete the ad after so many are sold.

this is the same error as the contact seller. there is an issue with sending the PM to members that are watching the ad. once i talk with chris i am sure we can get it all worked out.

Bingo! I have found the correct phrase to translate.

If you would like to rename the classifieds tab in the navigation bar do the following:

AdminCP -> Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases -> "Search for text" enter 'classifieds" -> Click on 'Find' -> Srcoll down to "GLOBAL Phrases Containing 'classifieds'" -> edit the phrase called "microclassifieds_classifieds"

Just a bit different than what mike suggested previously and this action makes a global change.

When you upload your files via FTP do the following:

- Go to: /domains/youraddress.com/public_html/microclassifieds
- Right mouse click on the "Photos" folder and select permissions. Set the value to 777
- Do the same for the folders in the Photos folder: thumbs and tmp

approve ads is the moderator setting

autopost is for when someone buys it the ad it automatically displayed again for when you have multiple items

ad as individual and store. if it is a store posting the ad they have them displayed store section and same for individual.

some usergroups you want to have a higher priority than others like if its a paid membership you can have them display more often than a regular user and if you want them to be a premium item you can set that to 1

no doc that i know of. i have been using this for a long time and just know how it works.

if you select yes to "do you want to approve thread" in the than that usergroup can approve ads. all ads go into moderation. i think that only certified users can post ads without moderation.

you should only have moderators and admin authorized to approve the ads. otherwise every user could approve their ads and reject everyone else's

i would recommend that you moderate all ads so that nothing illegal is posted for sale.

i would only set the moderators and admin to yes all others no for approving ads

not sure why others are not showing up under new owner classifieds.

i would check the microclassified general settings to see how many owner classifieds you have entered to be displayed.

the PM'ing of the seller or the bid owner works. the error comes from trying to PM any one watching the item. the error has been found will be addressed by chris when i get to talk to him. if you want a copy of my classified.php that works PM me and i will send it to you but i do not want to advertise it on this thread as it takes away from the owners features and i dont feel it is right.
