History:
1.0.1 - Initial Release
1.0.2 - Animated text now powered by jQuery fixing all browser issues. Minor code changes.Hi guys,

This was initially a 2 template modifications i created, i felt it would be much easier making it into a simple product for people to install and customize in the settings.

What is Additional Notification Alert:

It's a really simple, customizable block that appears just above the forums which will alert the users of any notifications, there is also a setting to limit the notifications to PM only:
Option to turn Modification on/off.
Option to enable for PM only.
jQuery drop/slide down for notifications.
Option to change the block background colour.
Option to change the block text colour.
Option to change the block hyperlink colour.
etc.-INSTALLATION-

-STEP 1-
Download the attached install file (product-additionalalert.xml) and upload into admincp -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product. Remember to select Allow Overwrite.

-STEP 2-
Go into admincp -> Options -> Additional Notification Alert and Customize until your happy with the colour scheme! You can also enable for PM's only.

And that's it! Check out the screenshots, they are animated. Very simple but equally effective mod.

[B]If you install this and for future updates and support please remember to mark as installed!

Cheers!

What's new in version 1.0.2:
Animated text now powered by jQuery working in all browsers.
Some minor code changes.
etc.

I love this! How do you make this appear at the very TOP of the page? Above everything...?

Unfortunately i had to move it as there isn't a template hook above everything.

Can you be a bit more exact on the problem? What's wrong? Screenshots?

Yeh, at the moment i'm just using CSS for the blink, which won't work in webkit browsers (Safari/Chrome) or in IE. It's something i have been working on and should've mentioned, looking to release an update soon with javascript doing the animation so it works in all browsers.

Sorry should have notified you of this in the op.

Is the mod definetly enabled? What version are you running? Do you have any other mods in forumhome?

Could try uninstall - reinstall mate but it is unusual.

What was the conflict? Can you explain the issue/error you had?

I'm releasing an update shortly with new options, including location on forumhome.

I know this says not supported but I thought I would ask anyway.

Boydy I send all new users a automated PM. Is it possible to make this mod ONLY show the alert for this one PM? (I want them to read this first as it contains welcome info and links on how to do stuff).

Then after they've that first PM they don't get the notice anymore, even if they receive more PMs?

The automated PM is the very first thing they receive.

Anyway?

Thanks

Not sure on that, but you could try this mod out, it is supported, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=266914&page=9&highlight=[dbtech]

Thanks ozzy but dbtech puts a ton of crap in the footer. Like most people I'm trying to keep the forum as clean looking as possible. Too bad too because they are talented coders.

Regarding this mod, does anyone know why we would be getting this error when we click on the 'click here' link in the notification? It was working fine.

Fatal error: Declaration of vB_ActivityStream_View_Perm_Product_Review::fetchT emplate() must be compatible with that of vB_ActivityStream_View_Perm_Base::fetchTemplate() in /home/loveforum/public_html/forum/vb/activitystream/view/perm/product/review.php on line 20

This might be a vB error.

DBTech does have a mod that reduces all your mods from them installed to one line, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=277322&highlight=[dbtech]

I am so glad that you are on these forums Ozzy :) I would never have seen that.

If it has the option to remove the "Runs best on blah blah blah" nonsense, then I might just have to start installing more dbtech mods :p

Thanks for the link..... appreciate it

Yes it does, you can remove the Hivelocity info with a setting. You can see it in action on their site, http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/forum.php In the footer you will see this:

Site powered by vBulletin Mods & Addons from DragonByte Technologies Ltd. (Details) Runs best on HiVelocity Hosting
