Create landing/cover page like VB.com

Im about to purchase another license for another forum, but i was wondering on how to make a cover page like vbulletin.com has for my site www.lower48.com I feel i can capture more people if i did. THanks!

The landing page on vbulletin.org is custom but vBAdvanced (http://www.vbadvanced.com) offers a free CMPS that will allow you to create very similar page.
