Page Corner Peeler

[Rideharder]

Description: Peeling corner on your vBulletin? Version 4.1.4 4.xx Tested 4.1.12

There are two zip files below to download, one is pleel back.zip & pleel down.zip you just need to download one of them to use.

pleel down.zip makes the corner of the page rollover like it's bending.

pleel back.zip makes the corner of the page slide straight down with no rolling over.

Download and unzip peel bsck.zip or pleel down.zip to your desktop.
You can edit the jpg images to suit your site....

1. Search in peel.js for the following url line:
http://www.tonyprez.net
Change the URL line shown above to the web URL you want to re-direct too.


2. Upload the following peel folder to your directory example http://YOURDOMAIN.COM/peel/
1.peel.js
2.small.jpg
3.small.swf
4.large.jpg
5.large.swf


3. In your header template, add this code to the bottom:
<script src="peel/peel.js" type="text/javascript"></script>


Now, your done. Hit refresh page to view results.

To edit the corner image on my site all I did was to edit the large.jpg and re-drop it back into the FTP client to override the originallarge.jpg...

You can edit the Small.jpg image and override the existing image, as well to suit your site.

I totally edited the directions above to make it easier for people to decide on which one they want to use.

Upload the small.swf to your directory and override it.

Upload the large.swf to your directory and override it.

You can experiment on which one you would like to have role back or just peel.

This is a very simple edit to your header template and should work as you see I have a custom layout in my demo.

Maybe you just need to put the code at the bottom of your footer, try that and see if it works for you.

If the forum is in a folder ie: www.domain.com/folder where should we upload the peel folder for the mod to work?

you have to upload into /folder, only you have to edit the .js -if I don't mistake- and put in the line "/folder/peeler/" .... I wanna suppose....

I installed it and worked and when I replaced the image it stopped working.

After some tests I noticed that sometimes it works sometimes does not.

Is there any possibility that there is any conflict with some mods?

When I change the large.jpg wih a new one of diferrent size it stopped working.

Example if you upload all the files to the correct folder and put the code link in the header and everything seems to work then you're on the right track the only thing that will need to change would be your large and small image just replace it by dragging and dropping it into your FTP.

One other person mentioned they're having an issue I'm waiting for the login information to try to pinpoint if it's clashing with a mod. It's really a simple file and I really don't think it should be clashing with anything. But like that old saying anything's possible.

Interesting, works great in Firefox and Internet Explorer. If some browsers are not compatible it will not do no harm. I will look into it more.

Maybe you have an issue with your computers, try "Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI)"

This requires changing the coding and flash file. Really it's just design for the right-hand side. There is other mods that are on the right and left. Look above where it says similar mods and perhaps you might find something.

I also had problems with large.jpg not showing up after I changed it.
So I renamed my image to large1.jpg and, in the peel.js, changed

jaaspeel.big_image = escape('/peel/large.jpg');
to
jaaspeel.big_image = escape('/peel/large1.jpg');

Works like a charm.

I removed the js from the header because even though I could not see the peeler it was affecting the site.

Top right, could not click on Logout or unread posts addon

I can add it back in if someone will be around to help. I dont want to affect users

My peeler keeps appeaing next to the log out button but i would like it to be in the top right corner.

Ive uploaded a photo so you can see better. My forum width is similar to yours however my peeler wont go to the far left.

Seems I am now having this exact same problem .. not really sure why but it works fine on the portal page .. but on the forum page it looks like this? I took it out of the header and tried the footer .. but same problem.

Not sure what i can do to fix this .. any ideas?

I used this on 4.1.5 and loved it! Recently upgraded to 4.1.12 and it's still working great.

How come the page corner peeler doesn't work/render on mobile devices like the ipad and iphone?

The peeler mod uses alittle flash file "swf".

This plugin has stoped working in chrome and IE for me, FF still works though.
Demo site doesn't seem to work in any browser, if it still has the peel enabled.
