It will always be positioned at the bottom, even after scrolling. The position can be changed through editing the CSS! :)

In my opinion, this is such a major modification that it's a crying shame that it doesn't come standard in vbulletin. I have posters that migrated over to my site from a XenForo forum and the only features they miss is the flexibility of their notification settings and the fact that it's instant. Other than that, they really can't tell the difference between vbulletin and xenforo once you add other modifications like Popup Private Messaging and hopefully one day, Live Topic for vb4.

I have hundreds of messages by mail "error databases" after only 15 minutes of use!

I have a notification (Thanks/Like) that is stuck on. No matter what I do it will not turn off. When I click on it it does redirect me to my profile.
I have checked the settings and it is not on permanently. When I check " Do not receive notifications" it does go away but when I enable it it appears again.

Just added the DBTech user tagging mod and noticed when a notification pops up for a tag or mention, when you click on it, it goes to the users main profile page, but not the mentions or thread tags tab, unlike when this mod is disabled and you click on the standard VB notification at the top of the page..
And is it correct that the PM notifiaction is constantly showing even when I have no pm's ?

Please try toggling the vBSEO Compatibility setting in vBulletin Options for this mod and see if that helps with the tab issue.

The PM issue is something we see sporadically but is hard to track down unfortunately :(

It's pretty impossible to determine what's causing that database error unless you posted the full message.

When you get that database error please check your email (if you send database errors to email) or right-click -> view source -> copy and paste the complete error message.

I'd love to move that notifications box up to the top right (or left) instead of being on the bottom of the browser. I figured enough that the following needs an edit... I've tried messing with the bottom % and it does move it up, but how do I put it on the top? 100% doesn't seem to work.

This is a fantastic mod!

To anyone struggling with this mod not working on a specific theme, make sure your style did not modify anything in the header template. Especially the popupmenu class stuff.

I figured this out the annoying way by comparing every single template with the original vB4 one until I found that difference.

Yes my site currently says Notifications: 2 in the header.

When I activate your Mod, that changes to Inbox. There is nothing else that looks anything like your screenshots.

This mod is amazing! Is there any way to make the entire notification box clickable, instead of just the text within the box? The mouse turns to the hand pointer, making the whole box look like a link, but it only actually clicks if the cursor is directly over the text.

Makes it a little difficult for our older users to click that specifically

Hi! We just switched our site over to HTTPS. Everything is working great, except that referring URL's from the notifications are all hard-coded HTTP. I can see this in the table: dbtech_notifications_notifications.

They're all like "http://mysite.com/recent_thanks.php" or "http://mysite.com/subscriptions.php", etc.

I can run a find & replace on this table to switch http->https, but more importantly, where in the code should I edit so that it starts doing https automatically?

It should do that for new notifications as it draws from the URL set in your vBulletin Options (Forum URL).

You should also apply a .htaccess redirect to automatically direct HTTP URLs to HTTPS, like so:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(mobiquo|forumrunner|401\.shtml)
RewriteRule (.*) https://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L,QSA]


Or something similar. Do note that we cannot provide support for these .htaccess rules or offer equivalent rules for NGINX or any other non-Apache compliant web servers.

I know 4.2.2 is not yet supported by DBTech, but I just wanted to provide you with some results from my test environment, in case it helps debug. I love this mod, and hope it will be working with 4.2.2!

On the top of every page, we see:

And the errors disappear. Still no notifications, but those two plugins seem to be where the errors are coming from.

Hey again, so I am still unable to figure out the HTTP/HTTPS link thing. Looking back, I am pretty sure I hard coded the URL for "Recent Likes" in one of your files (to link directly to the page, instead of a vbnotifs link, because I was having trouble with vbnotifs) - I know you don't support hard edits, but if you are able to think of which file that might be (the one that generates those links) off the top of your head, it would really help! I have tried looking at edit dates and everything, can't seem to find it :(

The file that generates the notification you speak of would probably be /dbtech/thanks/hooks/notifications_list.php

As for what file you edited, it could have been /dbtech/notifications/core/class_notifications.php

How can I reduce the server load requirements for this mod? If I check my access logs, every other line is
POST /vbnotifs.php HTTP/1.1 "200"

I tried changing the refresh rate to 300 seconds, but that didn't seem to help. My forum isn't THAT active...

Test a new modification on the default vBulletin style. It is unfair to say that a 'mod' does not work when there is just a inconsistency with your selected style.

All you need is a simple CSS color alteration. If you post a link with an active notification, we should be able to assist you.

Without a page url (with a notification active), I will not be able to determine the CSS via my browser. I would either have to load the "mod" or spend my time reading through the code. It is why we ask for a link.

This feature is also part of the PRO version according the the documentation.

I like this Mod, but it kills a previous mod (FractalizeR: Show items, awaiting moderation in notifications area (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=241301)) that notified me when there are new posts or threads needing moderation.
Any idea how to add those notifications to this mod?

vBNotifications need to see notification first, after that you can implement it in notifications you see. Did you check if new notifications are spotted in settings of this mod?

Yes it does. Check under your notification types in your ACP. It may take one thanks and/or likes to be given first.
