What is it?

This mod will show the Poll in Forum Sideblock.

Features
=====================================

1. Enable/Disable the mod from admincp.
2. Get Latest Poll From Multiple Forum. New!
3. Get Poll From Particular Thread.
4. Fully Integrated with Vbulletin Forum Sideblock Manager

-> You can change display order
-> Cache Time

5. No Template Edits.

Upgrade Instructions

1. Upload The New xml from Product manager in Admincp. (Don't Forget to click on overwrite)
2. Enable the mod and enter threadid or forumid's for fetching the poll.
3. Run clear system cache under Maintenance

1. In the Product Manager in AdminCP, import the product XML file.
2. Open Settings -> Show Poll In Forum Sideblock
Enable the mod and enter threadid or forumid for fetching the poll.
3. Run clear system cache under Maintenance



Uninstalling:

1. You can disable the mod from admincp OR Uninstall the product from the Product Manager in the AdminCP.

What I mean is this is designed for me to select the latest poll.

On my forum I have a dedicated section for polls, so Ideally, I would put that forum ID in and the latest poll would be displayed automatically rathter than me adding the the latest thread ID for a poll manually. Also is there a way to make the Poll's display at the top of my sidebar instead of at the bottom?

IMO, this should be a deafault Sidebar block for VB, but good work all the same installed and rated 4.

New Version (2.0) is now released which has little different coding then prev released. I would suggest you to try this.

Search For Poll For Forum Sideblock By Ayush

Below that you will see a Cache Templates plugin, click on edit

Replace All with

i don't use everywhere sideblock mod so for me there is default sideblock, which comes in index page only.

i will test this mod with everywhere sidebar mod and will try to find out the solution for it.

You need to enter threadid if u want to fetch poll from particular poll..

if u want to fetch latest poll from a particular forum, then enter the forumid.


it goes back to zero, because you maybe typing threadtitle.

for ex:

Ya every thread has id and which is unique. Just open any thread in ur forum which has poll and see for number in a url.

I see that the colour in my top stats has now gone to grey where it was white? Plus right at the top is now a forum bar in white that never used to be there and the part under it used to be white and is now grey?

1. you can enter the forumid if u want to fetch latest poll automatically. (only 1 forumid)
2. you must have done something wrong, thats why colour is changed.
3. You change sidebar Poll Title from Forum Sideblock manager
4. you can uninstall the mod if u don't like it :)

uninstall the product and delete all poll sideblock forum block manager. then install this new xml.

i tested this mod on a forum with table prefix, its working fine there hopefully it will be for u also.

when member votes in the poll, his votes are registered first and then he is redirected to showthread page.

You might be getting the problem of cache time.

Open Show Poll in forum block in Forum Block Manager

and Set Cache time -> to 0 (if it is something else)

I'm also using Everywhere Sidebar and after following your instructions it worked like a charm. Great mod!

But, is it normal that admin (or the polls creator?) can't see the poll in the sidebar, other than the title, question and the edit button? When I log out and visit as guest I can see the poll results, also if I log in as a junior member, but not as admin.

Also, is it possible to set it so that members can vote directly in the sidebar (as in your screenshots)? I can't seem to find out how.

It's an excellent mod, something I have been looking for since a very long time, thank you very much for that.

However I have a litte styling issue. I use this code to add an extra background graphic to the block titles:

} My sidebar poll block is now looking like on the image attached to this post (before voting).

I went through all the templates, the block code, the plugin. But I simply don't manage to find the code to remove this background graphic from inside of the block and from behind the poll question.

Do you have any idea how and where I can remove it? Thanks a lot!

I downloaded and installed twice and mine remains as 2.0
I did allow overwrite and I also removed 2.0 and comes back as 2.0 and not 2.1

vbulletin by default clear caches once in a hour, so even if you don't clear cache and leave it alone, it would have started working after an hour time.

When you move a thread, it appears to confuse this mod even if the thread has no poll. It looks like it thinks the moved thread redirect is a poll. If you remove the forum id where the redirect is, the mod starts working again. V4.1.12

your forum is inactive right now, so can't answer your question until i see that sideblock.

i visited vbstyles.com to see that element skin (http://www.vbstyles.com/style.php?id=1) and i found that this skin is having a custom sideblock. (different from Default vB Sideblock)

So, you will need to edit "block_sideblock_poll" template to match poll sideblock with your forumskin.

I cleared system cache after install and after uninstall, tried two browsers.

i just changed dependency version to 4.9.9 as without it you can't install this mod on vb 4.2.0 +
check vB default skin ? (is it also messed up)

Remove Poll Sideblock from Forum Block Manager, if by chance it is not removed after uninstalling the mod.

I'm having a issue with this, I'm not sure if it's because I'm using the every where side bar. However when on the main forum page, if I haven't voted in the poll, the poll box gets wrapped around all the other boxes.

Only can use 1 forum at the time in settings, if use more than 1 forum, comes out blank.

ok, spent few minutes on this and just noticed that the PHP code in the mod doesn't get filled up when installed to the vb board. when you go to your sideblock in the forum blocks manager, you can edit the poll block and find no PHP code; it is empty. That's why it won't work. I grabed the code from the xml file so anyone can use it. place it in the PHP code area in the sideblock for poll and save it. it works fine.
