Flash headers?

Hello, i am working on my new site which deals with extreme sports. I though of adding flash banner like this which lists out all the extreme sports.

I think that looks coo man.. but what about peope who do not have flash on there web brwoswer.. what are they going to see? an red x?

I think in this age of iPads and such moving to Flash is a bad idea.

Yeah i understand, can you suggest me anything that will make the logo to look outstanding with out the flash?

If you still have an original psd or layed file for that it wouldn't be too hard to make it an animated gif where the letters were "shaking" or bouncing around a little.

I would probably split it into 3 images. Static images on either side and animate only the middle.

You could add some javascript mouseover effects to change the colors or something when someone brings the mouse over it.

What did you want to do with Flash?

I just thought of listing out the sports which i consider extreme using the flash.

Any size recommendations for the banner or the current one is fine?

My first impression was that it's on the big side but really hard to judge without seeing how it fits into the page as a whole.

Easy with jQuery

You can use JavaScript or HTML5.

If the browser supports it, HTML5 is used.
If HTML5 is not supported, Flash is used.
If all else fails, image is shown.
